One day out: an empty docket, a hearing in limbo — and the DRI committee meets tonight

Tomorrow is the City Hall double-header — a 6:30 PM rezoning hearing still on the calendar even though its notice filing reads “Withdrawn”, then a 7:00 PM stated meeting whose printed agenda still lists no legislation. The council’s eleven fall filings all still sit in committee, thirteen days on. Tonight, the DRI Local Planning Committee meets at Larkin, public comment at the end. It’s day three of nine of early voting — 8 to 4 today — and Halloween week rolls on: bar crawl tomorrow, Fright Fest Friday, a free financial-literacy workshop Saturday.

One day out, the record holds

Tomorrow’s stated meeting: the printed agenda still lists no legislation verified

The council’s Oct 27 stated meeting — Tuesday, 7:00 PM, City Hall – City Council Chambers 4th Floor — has had its printed agenda up since Friday, and this morning’s pull of the meeting record shows the same slim shape it has carried all week: roll call, the pledge, “Minutes of the Stated Meeting held on Tuesday, October 13, 2026 approved by motion of Majority Leader Rubbo.”, the standing communications and committee sections, and the two placeholder filings filed Oct 21 — “There are NO OLD ITEMS for Consideration for the City Council Meeting scheduled for TUESDAY, October 27, 2026, 7:00 P.M.” and its new-items twin. Both placeholders still read “Agenda Ready” in this morning’s legislation pull, and the newest change anywhere in the record is still that Oct 21 filing pair. One day out, no legislation is docketed for Tuesday — if filings arrive before the gavel, the docket grows; the record we can see this morning says otherwise.

The 6:30 hearing: still on the calendar, its notice still “Withdrawn” verified

The record’s strange thread, re-verified this morning: the events feed still lists a 6:30 PM public hearing tomorrow evening at the same City Hall chambers — but its notice filing, TMP-0866 (“Public Hearing Notice - GO AMENDING CHAPTER 43 - DMX Zoning”), still reads “Withdrawn”, unchanged since Oct 21 per the record’s own last-modified stamp. The rezoning ordinance behind it — TMP-0811, the D-MX / UR-HD map amendment — remains “Referred.” An event listed on a calendar whose notice has been pulled is the record contradicting itself, and this morning’s check changes nothing: if the D-MX/UR-HD rezoning matters to you, the calendar’s answer is still “show up Tuesday at 6:30.”

Thirteen days on, the Oct 13 pile still sits in committee verified

The wait continues on the Oct 13 pile: the council’s eleven pending temporary filings — TMP-0855 through TMP-0864, plus TMP-086 (that last file number exactly as the record lists it) — every one still reading “Referred” in this morning’s pull, thirteen days after that meeting, none with a pass date. The pile includes the former Public School # 9 conveyance, the resolution urging age-appropriate restrictions on student use of artificial intelligence in elementary schools, the Italian Heritage / Columbus Day resolution, four grant-acceptance ordinances totaling $1,812,576.01 — a $30,000 Field Hall Foundation grant, $202,648.00 in state CHIPS funding, $285,304.00 in federal ESG funding and $1,294,624.01 in federal HOME funding — the $20,000 settlement over the March 2023 McDonald’s melee, the budget amendment, a Commissioner of Deeds appointment and the intermunicipal agreement with the Town of Greenburgh. When the Sept 29 docket finally resolved last week, the outcomes landed in one clerk update. The same could happen any day now.

Tonight: the DRI committee works on the downtown plan verified

At 5:30 this evening, the Yonkers DRI Local Planning Committee holds its third meeting, in the Riverfront Community Room (2nd Floor) at One Larkin Center, running to 7:00. The committee is developing the Strategic Investment Plan for the DRI area and evaluating projects for grant funding — the DRI being the state’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative, which, per the library’s listing, provides one winning downtown with planning support and grants to fund a slate of shovel-ready projects. “All LPC meetings are open to the public and provide an opportunity for public comment at the end.” More at yonkersdri.com.
