Two days to Tuesday: a hearing the record half-retracts, a docket with nothing on it

Tuesday is a City Hall double-header — a 6:30 PM rezoning hearing that is still listed even though its notice filing reads “Withdrawn”, then a 7:00 PM stated meeting whose printed agenda still lists no legislation. The council’s eleven fall filings all still sit in committee, twelve days on. It’s also day two of nine of early voting — 10 to 6 today at any county site — and Halloween week: the downtown bar crawl lands Tuesday, the YMCA’s Fright Fest Friday.

Two days out, the record hasn’t moved

Tuesday’s stated meeting: a printed agenda with nothing on it verified

The council’s Oct 27 stated meeting — Tuesday, 7:00 PM, City Hall – City Council Chambers 4th Floor — has had its printed agenda up for days, and this morning’s pull of the meeting record shows the same slim shape: roll call, the pledge, “Minutes of the Stated Meeting held on Tuesday, October 13, 2026 approved by motion of Majority Leader Rubbo”, the standing communications and committee sections, and the two placeholder filings introduced Oct 21 — “There are NO OLD ITEMS for Consideration for the City Council Meeting scheduled for TUESDAY, October 27, 2026, 7:00 P.M.” and its new-items twin. Both placeholders still read “Agenda Ready” in this morning’s legislation pull. Two days out, no legislation is docketed for Tuesday — if filings land before the meeting, the docket grows; the record we can see this morning says otherwise.

The 6:30 hearing: still listed, its notice still “Withdrawn” verified

Tuesday’s stranger item, re-verified this morning: the events feed still lists a 6:30 PM public hearing that evening at the same City Hall chambers — but its notice filing, TMP-0866 (“Public Hearing Notice - GO AMENDING CHAPTER 43 - DMX Zoning”), still reads “Withdrawn” in the legislation pull (record last modified Oct 21). The rezoning ordinance behind it — TMP-0811, the D-MX / UR-HD map amendment — remains “Referred.” A withdrawn notice with a live event listing is the record contradicting itself, and this morning’s check changes nothing: if the D-MX/UR-HD rezoning matters to you, the calendar’s answer is still “show up Tuesday at 6:30.”

Twelve days on, the Oct 13 pile still sits in committee verified

The wait is on the Oct 13 pile: the council’s eleven pending temporary filings — TMP-0855 through TMP-0864, plus TMP-086 (that last file number exactly as the record lists it) — every one still reading “Referred” in this morning’s pull, twelve days after that meeting, none with a pass date. The pile includes the former Public School # 9 conveyance, the resolution urging age-appropriate restrictions on student use of artificial intelligence in elementary schools, the Italian Heritage / Columbus Day resolution, four grant-acceptance ordinances totaling $1,812,576.01, the $20,000 settlement over the March 2023 McDonald’s melee, the budget amendment, a Commissioner of Deeds appointment and the intermunicipal agreement with the Town of Greenburgh. “Referred” means sitting in committee — and when the Sept 29 docket finally resolved last week, the outcomes landed in one clerk update. The same could happen any day now.

Early voting, day two of nine — 10 to 6 today

Eight days left to vote early, at any site in the county verified

Yesterday was the deadline the county’s election briefing flagged — registration applications had to be in by Saturday, October 24. For the already-registered, the easier deadline is none at all: early voting runs through Sunday, November 1, and today’s Sunday hours are 10 AM–6 PM. The week ahead, per the Board of Elections’ posted schedule: Monday, Wednesday and Friday 8 AM–4 PM; Tuesday and Thursday 12 PM–8 PM; both weekends 10 AM–6 PM. You can vote at any of the county’s 25 sites — not just your neighborhood one. Yonkers’ three: Grinton I. Will Library (1500 Central Park Avenue), Nodine Hill Community Center (140 Fillmore Street), and Riverfront Library (One Larkin Center). Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, and early-voting results get canvassed and reported after 9 PM that night. The county notes the site list is “Subject to Change.”
