School # 9, AI in schools, $1.81M in grants — the Oct 13 filings await their votes verified
Tuesday, Oct 13, 7:00 PM, One Larkin Center — Board Room, 4th Floor: the council’s stated meeting put eleven substantive filings on its Final agenda. Ten days later, this morning’s pull of the legislation record shows every one of the eleven still reads “Referred” — not one carries a pass date. The docket, in plain English: a local law authorizing the conveyance of the former Public School # 9 for redevelopment (TMP-0864, sponsored by Councilmember Diaz); a resolution urging the Yonkers Public Schools Board of Education to adopt age-appropriate restrictions on student use of artificial intelligence in elementary schools, so students “first develop the critical thinking skills they will need to use such technology well” (TMP-0856); three new positions in the Department of Information Technology (TMP-086 — that last file number exactly as the record lists it); a $20,000 settlement for two claimants who allege excessive force during a melee at the McDonald’s at 155 South Broadway in March 2023 (TMP-0858); an intermunicipal agreement with the Town of Greenburgh for joint use of the Yonkers police and fire special-operations training center (TMP-0859); a resolution recognizing Italian heritage and declaring October 12, 2026 Columbus Day in the city (TMP-0855); a Commissioner of Deeds appointment (TMP-0857); and four grant acceptances totaling $1,812,576.01: Field Hall Foundation $30,000, state CHIPS $202,648.00, federal ESG $285,304.00 and federal HOME $1,294,624.01 (TMP-0860 through TMP-0863).
Why it matters: under Legistar’s status vocabulary, “Referred” means a filing sits in committee awaiting council action — as our Sept 29 backfill showed, pass dates can land in the record weeks after the votes themselves. When the Oct 13 docket resolves, expect the temporary TMP numbers to re-file as permanent ones (the Mary Teague resolution went TMP-0820 → RES.157-2026) — the outcome, not the renumbering, is the news.

Tuesday’s stated meeting: a Final agenda with nothing on it verified
The Oct 27 stated meeting — Tuesday, 7:00 PM, City Hall – City Council Chambers 4th Floor — has flipped its agenda to Final, and this morning’s re-pull confirms the docket hasn’t grown: roll call, the pledge, “Minutes of the Stated Meeting held on Tuesday, October 13, 2026 approved by motion of Majority Leader Rubbo”, the standing communications and committee sections, and two placeholder filings introduced Oct 21 — TMP-0867, “There are NO OLD ITEMS for Consideration for the City Council Meeting scheduled for TUESDAY, October 27, 2026, 7:00 P.M.” and TMP-0868, the same for new items. No legislation is docketed. Translation: unless filings land before Tuesday, the Oct 13 committee pile keeps waiting.
The 6:30 PM public-hearing slot earlier that evening remains the week’s strangest item, and this morning’s re-verification changes nothing: the hearing event is still listed on the calendar feed for Oct 27 at 6:30 PM, same City Hall – City Council Chambers — but its notice filing TMP-0866 (“Public Hearing Notice – GO AMENDING CHAPTER 43 – DMX Zoning”) still reads “Withdrawn” (record last modified Oct 21), and the rezoning ordinance behind it, TMP-0811 — the D-MX / UR-HD map amendment — still reads “Referred.” A withdrawn notice and a listed event: the record still contradicts itself, so if the D-MX/UR-HD rezoning matters to you, the calendar’s answer is still “show up Tuesday at 6:30.”
