Council night just ended — and everything on the docket still reads “Referred.”

Tuesday’s stated meeting is in the books, and the legislative record’s verdict hours after the gavel: wait. All ten files from the meeting’s Final agenda still read “Referred,” none carries a council passage date, and no minutes are posted yet — from the P.S. 9 local law to the $1,812,576.01 grant stack, the $20,000 settlement and the AI-in-elementary-schools push. Nothing shows as passed. Meanwhile the record’s Oct 27 slot now reads public hearing: 6:30 PM on the D-MX / UR-HD rezoning, agenda Final, published to Legistar at 12:22 PM today. Downtown’s Halloween pair is official too: pet parade Oct 24, bar crawl Oct 27.

After the gavel

All ten docket files still read “Referred” — nothing shows as passed verified

A post-meeting pull of the Legistar record shows the docket’s status hours after the meeting ended: all ten files from the Final agenda carry status “Referred,” none carries a passage date, and no minutes from the meeting have been posted yet. The newest action actually logged on any of the ten is the Oct 6 Rules Committee referral that queued them for Tuesday’s stated meeting — verbatim, “This Resolution was referred.to [sic] the City Council of Yonkers Stated Meeting due back on 10/13/2026.” In plain English: nothing shows as adopted, and “Referred” never means passed. Watch the Oct 27 hearing, and future agendas for the final votes — no stated meeting is currently on the record beyond tonight’s. The ten: the P.S. 9 conveyance local law (TMP-0864, by Councilmember Diaz); four grant ordinances totaling $1,812,576.01 — $30,000 (Field Hall Foundation), $202,648.00 (state CHIPS), $285,304.00 (federal ESG) and $1,294,624.01 (federal HOME); the $20,000 settlement for two claimants who allege excessive force during a March 17, 2023 melee at the McDonald’s at 155 South Broadway; the AI resolution urging the Board of Education to adopt age-appropriate restrictions on student use of artificial intelligence in elementary schools; the Columbus Day declaration (for Oct 12, 2026 — already behind us); a Commissioner of Deeds item; and the budget amendment adding three IT Department positions, still filed under its stray number, plain “TMP-086.”

Oct 27 is now a 6:30 PM zoning public hearing — agenda Final, posted today verified

Yesterday this slot read “stated meeting, 7 PM” (we reported it that way in Issue #027). Tonight’s record is different: the only Oct 27 event now listed is a Public Hearing at 6:30 PM, City Hall — City Council Chambers, 4th Floor, agenda status Final, with the agenda published to Legistar at 12:22 PM today. The subject: a general ordinance amending Chapter 43, the zoning ordinance, and the zoning map — reclassifying and rezoning certain properties to D-MX or UR-HD districts, with matching updates to the Key Streets, Height Districts, Sidewalk Width and Districts maps (Attachments 13–16). The agenda tags it (NO FISCAL IMPACT.) (ALL COUNCILMEMBERS.) A public hearing is the comment window — if rezoning reaches your street, this is the night to show up. No separate stated meeting appears in the record as of tonight.

Tuesday’s council meeting is on the city’s video archive verified

For the record shelf: the city’s Chameleon “Meetings on Demand” archive now carries a “Council Meeting” entry dated Tuesday, Oct 13, 7:00 PM — publish status live, last updated 7:25 PM that evening, and the video page is up tonight. It’s a useful cross-check, because Legistar’s own video field for the meeting is empty. The archive also holds an Oct 7 Rules Committee meeting (9:00 AM) from earlier this month.

Halloween comes downtown

Pet parade Oct 24, bar crawl Oct 27 — the BID’s Halloween pair is back verified

The Yonkers Downtown Waterfront BID announced its two Halloween events for 2026 today. The Halloween Pet Parade and Fashion Contest runs Saturday, Oct 24, 12:00–2:00 PM at the Yonkers Waterfront Amphitheater, 71 Water Grant Street — pets compete in Most Creative, Scariest and Cutest, each category’s winner takes a $100 gift card sponsored by Extell Development, and registered pets get a goodie bag, bandana, certificate and a spin in the 360-degree video booth. Registration must be completed in advance. The Downtown Halloween Bar Crawl follows Tuesday, Oct 27, 5:00–9:00 PM at participating downtown restaurants — the same night as the zoning hearing at City Hall. “The enthusiasm around our Halloween events continues to grow each year,” said Sara Brody, executive director of the BID.
