Tuesday's agenda is posted — here's the table

P.S. 9, a housing PILOT and the riverfront: the final Sept 15 agenda verified

The Real Estate Committee meets Tuesday, Sept 15, 6:15 PM in the Council Chambers with a final, posted agenda of four items: a local law to convey the former Public School #9 (53 Morningside Ave) for redevelopment (Councilmember Diaz); an amendment to the city's 2017 tax-exemption agreement with the Municipal Housing Authority, authorizing a three-year abatement of payments in lieu of taxes; a resolution amending the planned urban redevelopment special-use permit covering 13 riverfront addresses along Riverside Drive, Admiral Way and Fisherman Way (Majority Whip Norman); and a package of zoning amendments reclassifying certain properties to D-MX or UR-HD districts — the same rezoning package the Rules Committee referred on Sept 9. The full council's stated meeting follows at 7 PM, with the next one Sept 29.

The noise law is queued up verified

A general ordinance amending the city's noise code (Chapter 66, § 66-5) — introduced at Tuesday just past's Rules Committee — now sits on the council's "agenda ready" list for consideration (file TMP-0787). Next moves happen in public session; we track every step on our Government News page.

5,000 hydrants, six to eight weeks verified

The Fire Department began its annual hydrant inspection program on Sept 8: about 5,000 hydrants citywide, tested for pressure and emergency readiness, weekdays 9 AM to 1 PM, expected to run six to eight weeks. If firefighters are at your corner some morning, that's the why. (Posted Sept 2.)

Sunday library hours are back checked sept 12

YPL resumed Sunday service September 13 for the fall. Crestwood stays closed for renovations; Riverfront and Will keep the weekend door open. If the week eats your errands, Sunday is back on the menu. (The library's event calendar wasn't serving fresh pages at press time, so this carries our Sept 12 check.)
