Fall session opens Sept 15, and old P.S. 9 is on it verified
After a summer with no stated meetings on the record (the Rules Committee reconvened this past Wednesday), the City Council holds its first fall stated meeting Tuesday, Sept 15, 7 PM at City Hall. Before it, at 6:15, the Real Estate Committee takes up four posted items: a local law to convey the former Public School #9 (53 Morningside Ave) for redevelopment, changes to the downtown riverfront permits at 40 & 2 Riverside Drive / 300 Admiral, a revision to a 2017 tax-exemption agreement, and a zoning-code amendment. Second stated meeting follows Tuesday, Sept 29, 7 PM.

It's live now and updates daily. Bookmark it: yonkerslocalscoop.com/government.html.
Budget year in one line verified
FY2026-27 is live: $1.64 billion, a 4.75% property-tax increase (cut from the proposed 5.25% at May's hearings), and $56.3M in added school support. The State Comptroller's July 3 review signed the paperwork and warned the city keeps leaning on one-time money — $39.5M of reserves plugged this year's gap.
