The boil-water advisory is lifted β€” Yonkers tap water is safe again after a state contractor's Saw Mill Parkway job broke a water main last Sunday (2 min)

Good news first: the boil-water advisory that had parts of Yonkers boiling tap water since last weekend is over, News 12 reported Friday night. The advisory went in after a major water main break caused by a state contractor working on the Saw Mill Parkway. The break β€” which also snarled traffic on Nepperham Avenue between Lake and Ashburton β€” was fixed Wednesday, and tests cleared the water for drinking.
